Grace, Love, and a Few Timely Reminders
Grace and love are some of the most powerful tools we have, and you should not be afraid to use them.
I’m taking a bit of a breather this week. I’ve got a multi-part series on sports gambling bouncing around in my head, and I want another week to sharpen it before sharing. In the meantime, I thought this was a good opportunity to revisit a few “oldies but goodies.” These are pieces I’ve written over the last year and a half that feel especially relevant given the conversations happening nationally right now. Maybe these thoughts help you better handle your next heated encounter?
Before we jump in, let me share something I told a group of friends recently: I’ve come to believe that a man telling his family and friends he loves them is the final form of masculinity. It’s a bit like confidently wearing a pink shirt. It may seem small, but it signals strength, confidence, and security.
With that in mind, here are a few reminders worth revisiting:
Love is the ultimate uniter. In a world that often feels divided, it’s worth remembering how powerful love can be. Read more here.
Empathy and listening are your most powerful tools. Especially when conversations get tough. Read more here.
Everyone carries bias. Our experiences shape how we see the world. Recognizing that helps us better understand others’ goals and motivations. Read more here.
It’s okay to disagree. In fact, it’s healthy. What matters is having a framework for working through those disagreements constructively. Read more here.
That’s it for this week. I’ll be back soon with fresh material. For now I’ll leave you with this: grace and love are some of the most powerful tools we have, and you should not be afraid to use them.
